Prior to real estate Aken gained a bachelor of economics and enjoyed being a quantity surveyor for one of the biggest property development companies in China. This background has enabled him to develop effective skills including knowing the market, marketing and the cost of the development. 

Aken is assisted by Michelle Zhou, his wife and associate salesperson. Michelle used to be the top salesperson in the same property development company which Aken worked with in China. This experience means she has a good understanding of the property and the market. 

Outside of his real estate career Aken enjoys spending time with Michelle and his two lovely sons. He loves children and fully supports Barfoot & Thompson’s dedication to, and financial support of, the ‘Starship Foundation’
